Details

Situated on the corner of Grape Lane and Church Street, in the very heart of the old, historic East side of Whitby, North Yorkshire, The Corner House is surrounded by brilliant places to eat, drink, visit and shop.  We're also about 30ft away from The Captain Cook Museum and probably about 40ft from the harbour too, so have history and fantastic views right on our doorstep!

With an open plan lounge and kitchen on the ground floor and super comfortable beds (king and two full size single beds), TV's in both bedrooms and a shower room with a fantastic, large shower enclosure (big enough for two, if that's what takes your fancy!) on the first floor, we're the perfect bolthole for your weekend away with family or friends.

Have mobility issues? Please check out our Access Statement, to make sure that we're suitable for your needs.

Travelling with young children?

Unfortunately, we've taken the decision not to provide a travel cot any more but we do have a high chair, baby gate, potty and toddler toilet seat, so that you don't have to try to cram everything you'll need into the car.

Bringing the car?

Whilst we don't have our own dedicated parking place, we do have a free, 1 hour maximum limited waiting bay, just outside, which is brilliant for dropping off your bags. After that, there is a Council run, long stay car park approximately 50m away (and can be seen from the cottage), with prepaid permits being available from the local Tourist Information Centre (pre-ordering is required from October to April).

We'd love to hear about your experiences here at The Corner House!

The reviews outlined below have been brought together for you from various different review and booking sites throughout the internet.  Their point of origin will be attached to them, should you want to go to those sites to check we're not fibbing! lol

We would hate to think that you'd ever book via those sites though; they charge for 'extras' you don't need and provide the same level of booking security that you'd have by booking with us direct - so why pay more for the same holiday?  We'd rather you spent it in the local economy (or put it towards those shoes or power tools you've had your eye on!).

Lovely stay at Corner House once again. Fantastic location, easy access to the whole of Whitby. Beautiful clean cottage. Definitely recommend. — Colin Williamson , 25 Jun 2024

Excellent centrally located cottage

A lovely old cottage, with everything you need and very well kept. It is very central, in easy level walking distance for everything round the harbour. Communication from the owner very good.

Great location

Great location, can walk straight out to the centre of Whitby. Well equipped for self catering. Nice clean bedding and comfy beds. Council car park is right next to house, charged at £9 for 24 hrs. Would recommend and would go back in the future.

Perfect location and home from home

Second stay at this little cottage. It’s a really perfect location being close to the harbour, train station, shops, Abbey and piers. The host Nichola leaves everything you need for a cuppa when you first arrive which is a godsend. Beds are comfortable and the cottage is spotless.
— DCee999 - ***** - TripAdvisor, 16 Jul 2023
Thanks Nichola - We enjoyed your lovely little cottage very much. It is very well placed and very convenient, comfortable and has everything you would need included. Also there are plenty of good eating places very near by. We went straight to the Tourist Information Office and were able to purchase a parking pass for the days we required including the part of the day we arrived. This was for long stay parking in Whitby and we also used it to visit Runswick Bay and Staithes long stay car parks, very useful indeed.
Thanks again love.

My husband and I are always very happy with our stay in this little cottage. You really couldn’t get more central than this. It’s big enough but not too big so it still has that cozy feel. The owners of this little gem are very welcoming and reachable for any questions you may have. It truly is a lovely home from home and we have become regular visitors. Give it a try….you won’t be disappointed. — Laura Gray, 24 May 2023
Second year staying at this beautiful cottage. Ideal location and pretty. Everything there you need for a nice relaxing stay

Fabulous little cottage!!

I had the pleasure of staying at the Corner House with my wife and 2 children after the recent Easter bank holiday. The house was found to be exceptionally clean, comfortable and well equipped with everything needed for our stay, there has clearly been quite a lot of thought which has gone in to ensure everything is at hand. The location of the cottage was perfect for us with parking available nearby and all which the picturesque town of Whitby has to offer being right on the doorstep. I must say that communication from Nichola was second to none from the outset, detailed information was provided well in advance and questions which we have usually had to ask when staying at other properties were answered without asking!! We had a really lovely stay here and would certainly recommend the corner house, we fully intend to visit again.!

The BEST place to stay in Whitby! Beautiful accommodation, beds and sofas so comfortable. You are truly the envy of all holiday makers if you stay here!
Despite its so central location, we were here on a bank holiday weekend and were not disturbed by noise (bear in mind, I can hear a flea sneeze, so this is on good authority.). Heard the occasional voice but first was the Epic bin folk who come every day: that’s commitment for you!

We will 100% be back x
— Kate, Lee and Heidi, 12 Apr 2023
We stayed for three nights in late March, 2023 and enjoyed every minute! The weather was kind for the time of year and we loved exploring the old winding streets. We ate in Humble Pie (next to the Corner House), Mr. Chips (opposite the cottage) and Costa Nostra (just down the road). All three restaurants were excellent, especially Costa Nostra - book early though and I mean a few days ahead of time as it’s so popular!
The cottage itself has everything you could want including an excellent location. We bought a four day parking pass from Scarborough Council (they need at least 10 days notice, so you need to be organized!).
I also loved the Captain Cook museum which is just around the corner.
We highly recommend The Corner House and plan to visit Whitby again.

Amazing Cosy Cottage

Couldn't have asked for anything better the cottage more than met our expectations. The cottage has everything you need for a cosy pleasant stay. The bedrooms are spacious, the beds are lovely and comfortable. The cottage is very clean and Nichola is an amazing hostess very attentive and on hand should you need her, not that you will. The shops, bars and restaurants are literally on the doorstep. Had a nice meal at the Edge restaurant and a lovely take away from the Passage to India to name a few! Would definitely stay here again. Thanks Nichola x

The Corner House was a lovely well equipped place to stay for a short break. We liked everything about it. The house was located centrally which had easy access for people with a disability and equipment available for young children. The decor, general environment and level of cleanliness was excellent. I have no hesitation in recommending this holiday home to family and friends. — Pat Mc, 02 Mar 2023

Fabulous Cottage

The Corner House, Whitby. This cottage is gorgeous we loved it. Everything you need is in the Cottage along with a welcoming bottle of Wine to welcome you. It is very central in Whitby with some fantastic Restaurants only a few doors away. The Italian Cosa Nostra 4 doors away is amazing with both the food & service. The Indian Moments across the road was lovely & Trenchers the Fish & Chip Restaurant is a must visit the best Prawns in batter we have ever tasted. All shops within walking distance no cars needed. Just returned from a week in our favourite town in our favourite cottage, we highly recommend this holiday home, anybody who’s wants a relaxing stay in luxury this is the place, a very well equipped kitchen 2 good sized bedrooms and a great shower , all spotlessly clean. It has a great location in the old town nothing is more than a 10 minute walk bars shops etc, Then there is Nichola the owner who will make your stay as nice as possible, she will give you all the information you need beforehand and whilst your there if needed, we personally couldn’t ask for more from Nichola and we highly recommend this holiday home and can’t wait for Christmas. Wish we could stayed longer

The house has a perfect location and was immaculate. there is all the equipment you need to feed a family. However its central location surrounded by restaurant and pub (especially Mister Chip across the road) does not incentive you to cook in the cottage. the service (even for a self catering) was great. We were accompanied from pre-arrival to after departure via text from the host. would recommends to any-one whom, like us, normally stays in hotels.
— Ferdy75uk - ***** - via TripAdvisor, 21 Jul 2021
Ideal setting.

I have stayed at the Corner House many times over the last few years. It in a great position on the east side of the Esk. One of the great things is everything is so close. One of my favourite times is in the evening when it is quieter you can step outside and enjoy the old part of the town and it's cobbled streets. The cottage itself is still full of character and history. The open plan kitchen, sitting and dining area work well and whilst there are many restaurants close at hand it's easy to prepare and cook in the cottage. The owners really go out of their way to ensure everything is perfect for your stay. The selfish part of me does not want to recommend the Corner House, because if it gets too popular I might not be able to get the weeks I want. However, the owner's deserve recognition for how they run their business.

Lovely cottage, fabulous location, recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay at The Corner House. The cottage is lovely, compact but with everything you need and plenty of room for a family of four. Stylishly decorated with a pristine kitchen and spotless thoughout. Fabulous location right in the centre of Whitby, just over the Swing Bridge on the Abbey side, close to shops, cafes and bars. No parking (apart from to drop off luggage) but we had no problem finding a parking place within 5 minutes walk of the cottage, even during the busy half term holiday. Definitely recommend and we hope to return soon.

Had a lovely break at The Corner House, it is close to everything in Whitby and in a lovely position. As soon as we entered the house we felt welcomed, It was so homely cosy and spotless with everything we could possibly need. The wine and basic necessity which were left for us was a lovely touch. Nichola was just a call away for any issues which we may have had. Will be returning as soon as possible. — Kim Hatton - Direct Guestbook Entry, 14 May 2021
Gorgeous Corner House

This was our second stay in The Corner House and it most certainly won't be our last! As always, communication with the owner Nichola was exemplary. The cottage was absolutely spotless, and the location is great, so central. Comfy beds, plenty of towels, and a bottle of wine on arrival - thank you. The Castle House (Nichola and Dave's other holiday cottage) also comes very highly recommended. My mum stayed here and raved about the cleanliness and comfort, plus there is also a garden and parking. If you are thinking of booking - I would recommend without hesitation. A***** Thank you Nichola, already looking forward to our stay next year.

Easter Break in The Corner House

This is the second time we’ve stayed in Nichola & David’s lovely little house in Whitby. It’s central, very clean & comfortable, well appointed, basically everything you need for a holiday. The only gripe is parking, which of course is no fault of the owners. There are short term spaces outside, ideal for dropping off & loading up, but for long term parking plan ahead. It’s well worth the effort, though! We will be back!

Beautiful cottage in the centre of Whitby

We stayed in the corner house for a 3 night stay. From start to finish Nichola was fantastic, keeping me informed along the way about my booking and providing useful information on parking, good places to eat etc. The cottage itself is lovely, very well equipped and in an excellent location with harbour views. One of the best things for me as I have a young family is that everything had been thought of - from baby gates to highchairs. Not having to try and cram everything into the car was a great start to the holiday! I’ve been coming to Whitby for years, but this was the first time I’ve been back with the kids. They had a fantastic time. Thank you Nichola for making their first Whitby holiday a memorable one. It certainly won’t be their last!

Gorgeous little property in the midst of everything !

The corner house is located at the end of Grape Lane, overlooking the harbour and opposite Captain Cook Museum ....... Restaurants and bars are all a short walk away .... The property is so cosy with everything you need for a great stay , there is even a washer dryer integrated in the kitchen area . Whitby Abbey and Church ( the 199 steps ..... have a go climbing them to the Abbey they are not too steep ) are within walking distance also numerous quirky little shops dotted along the narrow cobbled streets. We usually go to the Caribbean at this time of year , but decided to have a staycation as we have never been to the East Coast....believe me we have had some comments with it being winter, but the weather all week has been lovely no rain lots of sunshine 🌞 and I can honestly say we have enjoyed our stay as much as , if not more than going abroad , just dress accordingly ...... Thank you Nichola , you have thought of everything....beautiful cottage and location . We hope we can stay again sometime in the future . Mike and Sylvia x

Gorgeous cottage

What a beautiful cottage!! We had a wonderful weekend here, the cottage is very well equipped and comfortable as well as really quiet considering it’s central location. Loved the wine fridge especially!! Nichola was super friendly and helpful right from the start and I will definitely return, either to this cottage or the dog friendly one. Can’t recommend this place highly enough!!! 😊😊

Another brill stay!!

Stayed here many times, now and have 3 bookings ahead of us, probably don’t have to say much more, but this place really does take some beating, everything you need for a great Whitby holiday, fully equipped, cosy spacious and in a brilliant location 2 minutes from the car park, which if you’re stopping more than 3 days buy a permit from the tourist information, it’s cheaper & you put your ticket on for as long as you like, Whitby shops & bars are buzzing with a great atmosphere, last but not least the owner Nichola will give you all the information you need from the time you book till up to your arrival, she won’t miss nothing & will keep you fully updated and not with a automated email she will personally make sure you have everything you need for a great stay , personally I’ve not come across anyone as genuine in business like this . Thanks again already looking forward to June , Nigel & Denise x

A cosy, well equipped cottage right in the centre of Whitby town.

The Corner House is in the ideal location with lots of shops, bars, restaurants and attractions on it's doorstep. It is a great cosy, well equipped, family friendly cottage. The owner Nichola was lovely and kept in touch to make sure everything was okay when we got there and was on hand if we had any issues. We have stayed here twice now and would definitely stay again.

Best place to stay in Whitby !

The cottage didn't disappoint, we are returning customers and we can honestly say it is the best place to stay when going to Whitby. Centrally located and the perfect home from home. The shower is fabulous and the beds are lovely and come. The hosts have thought of everything... Even a complimentary bottle of wine :)

Brilliant 5 stars cannot rate this cottage or its owner nichola high enough a real home from home spotless got everything you need set in the heart of Whitby but once you close the door behind you so quiet 100% recommend this cottage to anyone already booked for next year can't wait to go back

Lovely cottage

We stayed at The Corner House late June, and we loved it. The house is perfectly located, extremely clean and has everything you need - really is home-from-home. There’s a carpark less than a minute away - I downloaded the RingGo app and just topped up my parking daily (£9). Last but not least, Nichola (the owner) was brilliant - comms were great from booking to leaving. Nothing was too much trouble, you can tell she really wants you to have a great time whilst you’re there. Liked the place so much we’re already discussing coming back next year!

Excellent central accommodation

Lovely cottage right in the heart of Whitby - very central you can walk everywhere. the cottage was like home from home and compared to other rental properties we have experienced in Whitby this is hands down the best in terms of comfort - fluffy towels for starters!!

Clean and lovely cottage

This cottage has the perfect location in Whitby if you want to be right in the town centre. Easy to access, lovely host, all the informations you need and good shower (I find so many places have bad bathing facilities and I was therefore impressed by the water pressure and temperature here). I highly recommend this cottage and the owners.

Perfectly Comfy and Central For Attractions

The cottage is central to Whitby, perfectly placed for those not wishing to venture far or for those on foot. Equally we found it a perfect base to head off to surrounding villages or jump on the steam train. The cottage itself being comfortable and with every thing thought of ( including a complimentary bottle of wine) it was the perfect short break for us. The owner Nichola was a pleasure to deal with, provided us with lots of useful information on both the cottage and attractions in Whitby and surrounding area. Would recommend to others. Thank you Nichols.

Excellent property in an excellent position to reach all Whitby has to offer.

This neat well appointed property is well furnished, extremely clean and more importantly, it Is in the flat! We stayed for four days to celebrate my husbands birthday, and as he had recently undergone major heart surgery, location was important. Everything was within walking distance, just a few minutes over the swing bridge, and car parking nearby. The owner Nichola was extremely helpful by providing information on everything a holiday maker would need to know, and nothing was too much trouble. She was even kind enough to pop a birthday card through the door on the day of my husbands birthday. I highly recommend this property, and would not hesitate to return.

A lovely central place to stay in Whitby

The corner house is very central and convenient for all activities. It is well equipped and very comfortable. I was particularly surprised at how quiet it was as it is surrounded by shops and bars and the views of the harbour are lovely. Would definitely book again.

Ideal Location, especially for those with walking difficulties, and a cosy well-equipped cottage

This lovely cottage is basically on the harbour, and, as one of our party of three has quite restrictive walking difficulties, this was perfect as it is very flat, and so he was able to get out and take himself off for walks around the entire harbour area and onto the pier, this alongside the fact that the cottage is situated near to some of our favourite eating houses, made it the perfect venue! The cottage has a lovely lounge area, with a fire for Winter months and modern wall mounted TV (a little too high for comfort to be honest), a dining area, and smart kitchen area complete with all necessary equipment including a washer dryer should you need it. There was tea, coffee, sugar, milk and a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived. Also supplied were washing up liquid, hand wash and laundry solutions. There are handrails on both sides of the stairs, leading to a well lit bathroom with a large shower with only a small step in, sink and toilet, two bedrooms, one being a good sized double, with king bed and windows on two sides, lamps and ample storage. The twin room was a nice size, light and with a small inbuilt wardrobe, including a safe. One of the beds which had a sprung mattress was quite uncomfortable as you could feel the springs, a topper would probably solve this. When we were there it was a heat-wave, and I recommend that a couple of small fans are provided for the bedrooms. Although the cottage is right in the midst of everything, the secondary double glazing did an excellent job of keeping out noise, and made the whole place very quiet and peaceful. My husband and I have been to Whitby many times over the years, but it was the first time for my brother in law, and he was absolutely blown away and cannot wait to return. We thouroughly recommend this property and Nichola the owner, who was always ready to answer any questions we asked. We hope to return to the Corner House next year for our little 3 or 4 day break.

Great Location

Had a wonderful weekend break staying in the Corner House. The cottage is very well appointed and was very clean on arrival. The location is perfect, as everything is within a short walking distance. Nichola kept in touch from the time of initial booking up to the day we arrived giving excellent recommendations on the local restaurants and cafes. She was more than happy to answer any questions we had too. Parking was good for us, as we parked in the car park located near to the cottage, so transferring bags from the car was easy. A memorable first visit to Whitby and we will certainly be returning.

The Corner House is an oasis of calm in the heart of the bustle of Whitby. It is spotlessly clean and offers all a family could need for a fantastic break in an unbeatable location within this beautiful town. The communication and welcome received was swift, reassuring and genuine. We were lucky enough to have wall to wall sunshine on our weekend break and the cottage offered a tranquil base from what turned out to be a very busy weekend. We loved it all and would recommend the location and the quality of the accommodation to couples and families alike. Thank you Nichola for your hospitality!

Fantastic.

Beautiful residence. Ideally located on Abbey side of town, (literally seconds from shops). Comfy beds, plenty of wardrobe space, clean bathroom. Open living/dining/ modern kitchen, cutlery and utensils provided. We stayed with another couple and we all agree how amazing our stay was. So much so, we wanted to book the same time next year before we left. Nichola (the owner), was very quick in replying and also very helpful with the many questions I bombarded her with. We will definitely be booking next year.

Just Lovely - Perfect Little House

I had no doubt that The Corner House would be a lovely place to stay due to its location and information I had read about it. When we arrived and stepped foot inside we knew instantly that we had made the right decision. It is in a fantastic location, 2mins from the cobbled streets, many quaint shops and the renowned 199 steps. Not to mention the eating places. The house itself was cosy, good central heating, bathroom with a really good shower. The bed in the double room was incredibly comfy complete with TV, although the reception wasn't good in there. Kitchen had everything needed. In the living area had table and chairs, two sofas (which to be honest were a bit uncomfortable presumably with all the wear and tear (feeling the springs) but was adequate for the short stay. Plenty of books, games, videos and a handy guide on Whitby together with the instructions for the kitchen /heating etc. You really couldn't fault the place. Fab communications and help/advice(if needed) was always available from Nichola. We are regularly visitors to Whitby and no doubt at all will stay again at The Corner House.

**OWNER'S UPDATE - The sofa's have since been reupholstered, so are super comfy again! We're still working on the TVs though - I think we're just in a bad signal area :( **

Just back from a fabulous few days in Whitby, staying in this beautiful, homely, cosy cottage. The cottage is superbly decorated, full of charm, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Ideally placed to just park up and leave the car until you leave. Its within walking distance of everything. Lots of bars, cafes, restaurants and takeaways on the doorstep. There are a good selection of games suitable for all ages, dvds and Netflix on the TV, if you fancy a cosy day in and just relaxing. Nichola goes above and beyond in ensuring everything is perfect, communicating from booking to returning home. Would definitely recommend a stay here. Thanks again!

Lovely Cottage - Great Location - Thoroughly Recommended !

Wow! What a lovely place to spend some time. The cottage is superb, tastefully renovated to include all mod-cons without losing its charm and sense of history - warm and cosy on an atmospheric winter's night - bright and cheerful in the sunshine. Nichola's attention to detail and concern for her guests' comfort is apparent as soon as you walk through the door. The location is wonderful immersing you straight into the vibrancy of day to day life around Whitby harbour. The sound proofing is very good too ensuring a good night's sleep in a very comfortable bed. All in all a delightful experience - Thanks Nichola - can't wait to visit again

Loved it !!!!

Just returned from a 5 night stay at this lovely little cottage, it’s our third time & got 2 breaks booked next year, it’s a gem of a place everything you need for a comfy stay in Whitby, ideal location on the edge of the old town, I think where this cottage has the edge on other properties I’ve stayed at is they all look tired after a while whereas I don’t see these owners letting this one go the same way mainly because they seem to care a lot about the place , Nichola is a top host and always on the end of the phone, a little tip anyone booking whio doesn’t no the area , book a prepaid car park ticket for church street car park in advance with the tourist information it’s cheaper & you don’t mess about each day putting tickets on your car .also book direct with Nichola works out cheaper, enjoy !!!!

Fantastic cottage

Just had a fantastic long weekend at the Corner House cottage in Whitby. The cottage itself is everything you could ever want from a seaside retreat, and then some! Downstairs has a kitchen area, dining area and lounge area with two two-seater settees. The kitchen area is modern and well equipped, with fridge, washer-dryer, oven, four ring hob and microwave. We only used it for breakfasts but I’m sure it’s well up to catering for a full on three course meal. Oh, and there’s a separate wine cooler too. Dining area has a free standing table and dining chairs for four people. Lounge has the aforementioned settees, a log effect gas fire and TV with digital channels and access to Netflix, YouTube, iPlayer, etc. There’s also free wi-fi and the whole place is toasty warm with full central heating. Upstairs are two bedrooms and a shower room with sink and toilet. The main bedroom has a very comfy double bed with side tables and reading lamps. There’s plenty of drawer and wardrobe space for all your clothes. Bedroom two has two single beds. Both bedrooms have their own TV. Shower room has sink, toilet and a very large walk in shower. The location is superb, being at the end of the older part of Church Street, just around the corner from the swing bridge. Honestly couldn’t fault this cottage an will definitely be returning again.

Had an excellent week at the Corner House, right in the centre of Whitby. I would highly recommend it. Ideal location for exploring Whitby and visiting the Pubs and Restaurants, with an excellent choice for all Tastes, from the Star Inn on the harbour, to eating "Take away" Fish and Chips at the Endeavour, whilst enjoying a beer. Stayed at The Corner House with my Mum in mid Sept. Was virtually perfect for us: excellent central location, cosy, clean and had everything we needed. Lovely touches like a bottle of wine left out for you, long life milk in fridge, anti-bac soap and postcards that you can make use of for a small donation. Nichola the owner was lovely; very helpful and ensured our stay was a very pleasant one. The house and location have a very interesting history too. We tended to eat lunch out every day and then cook at the house in the evenings; I found cooking to be very easy in terms of the oven/hob and equipment available in the kitchen. Really pleased we stayed at The Corner House and would definitely recommend it if you want self-catering accommodation in Whitby.

An absolute must stay!

From beginning, during and to end, Nichola was fantastic to deal with. So helpful and full of information and tips of where to go, eat and do. The cottage is simply lovely and finished to such a high spec. It's so easy to keep clean and is situated in a perfect spot, close to everything but once inside you're away from it all. It's been so well thought out with very smart stair gates, high chairs, toilet seats etc and lots of storage in each bedroom and downstairs. It has a well equipped kitchen meaning you don't have to be out all the time which is great when you have kids. There is a TV within built in DVD and Netflix. Free WIFI and a TV in both bedrooms. A lovely bathroom with a shower. Constant hot water and very good heating! It's a great size with one double bedroom and a twin bedroom. Both very decent sized rooms. It ticks all the boxes and we'll definitely be returning. I wouldn't bother staying anywhere else when the cottage has all our needs and is so lovely to stay in. With a pie and mash shop right next door, fish and chips right opposite and a lovely quirky pub 40 steps (approx) across the street that has live music, bar snack food and an array of gins to choose from, you'd be hard pushed to find better. It's away from the main hustle and bustle (but within a very short walk to all of it) so it's lovely to come inside, shut the door and have the peace when you need. Lovely views too of the harbour and boats and a long stay car park just feet away at a very decent price which you can get cheaper when you book at the tourist information centre. There is so much to do in Whitby you will not be bored. I recommend the steam train on NYMR, a yellow bus tour, crabbing, the abbey, 199 steps, a river or sea trip and Fisherman's Wife restaurant for fabulous seafood and views. There are so many lovely shops and a huge amount of places to eat. Some fantastic views too. Dealing with Nichola was a real pleasure. You can't fault this beautiful holiday cottage! What a great find! Enjoy your stay!

Perfect Cottage, priceless service to guests!

We were blown away with the Corner House by the location, the beautiful decoration and furnishings. The cottage is set up for a perfect retreat and everything you need to ensure that you are comfortable. It was if we were the first to stay there as it was so spotlessly clean with the softest towels and everything looked brand new. Just perfect! More importantly, the owners go more than the extra mile to ensure your wellbeing. More like 101 extra! I know this due to a very difficult situation created by neither the owners or ourselves. However, they resolved it more than we could have ever expected and so if you are ever concerned about cottage owner responses if things unexpectedly happen, then choose this Cottage and I can assure you that you can enjoy a fabulous break with a positive response if you need their help. The house is well laid out, clean and tidy, and full of character. It's in a great location, on the west side of the harbour only a short walk to the abbey steps with loads of pubs and places to eat. Friendly and helpful owner Nicole. You could not ask for more.

Beautiful cottage, very comfortable and tastefully decorated and in a perfect location

Central location in the heart of Whitby, an ideal base for exploring the town and making the most that Whitby has to offer. No need to use the car unless you want to explore the surrounding area. The cottage was spotless, very comfortable and well laid out. It has been renovated to a very high standard and had everything we needed and more. The wifi worked perfectly which is a bonus if you have teenagers. The communication with the owner was excellent and were were provided with a lot of information and recommendations in relation to parking, shopping and cafes/restaurants. We had a fabulous break and will definitely book again in the future.

Wonderful cottage in the heart of Whitby

The location is excellent. Just step out of the door and you are at the centre of things. Shops, restaurants, pubs all within very easy walking distance. Lovely places to visit by car. The journey to the abbey not as bad as we thought, all 199 steps of it! Nichola couldn't have been more helpful with the booking and making arrangements to stay and clear directions were given so finding the cottage was very simple. Very comfortable bed and the cottage had everything you need for a stay though we didn't really use the kitchen equipment etc as we tended to eat out. We managed to find free parking but it was a good walk and I suspect that in the summer months you'd struggle to find anything.

Our Wonderful stay in the Corner House

We had such a lovely time, being in the middle of everything and waking up to looking over the Harbour was wonderful. Also fab Resturant's just a short stroll away. Can't wait to return
