The Corner House
Getting Here
Details
Situated on the corner of Grape Lane and Church Street, in the very heart of the old, historic East side of Whitby, North Yorkshire, The Corner House is surrounded by brilliant places to eat, drink, visit and shop. We're also about 30ft away from The Captain Cook Museum and probably about 40ft from the harbour too, so have history and fantastic views right on our doorstep!
With an open plan lounge and kitchen on the ground floor and super comfortable beds (king and two full size single beds), TV's in both bedrooms and a shower room with a fantastic, large shower enclosure (big enough for two, if that's what takes your fancy!) on the first floor, we're the perfect bolthole for your weekend away with family or friends.
Have mobility issues? Please check out our Access Statement, to make sure that we're suitable for your needs.
Travelling with young children?
Unfortunately, we've taken the decision not to provide a travel cot any more but we do have a high chair, baby gate, potty and toddler toilet seat, so that you don't have to try to cram everything you'll need into the car.
Bringing the car?
Whilst we don't have our own dedicated parking place, we do have a free, 1 hour maximum limited waiting bay, just outside, which is brilliant for dropping off your bags. After that, there is a Council run, long stay car park approximately 50m away (and can be seen from the cottage), with prepaid permits being available from the local Tourist Information Centre (pre-ordering is required from October to April).

These prices do not include the £50 refundable security deposit, which we take on every booking.
We have a 3 night minimum stay for the majority of the year, however, during 'Christmas/New Year' we switch to having bookings which have a either a 5 or 7 night minimum (depending on when the dates fall).
We always try to accommodate shorter or longer stays though, so if you see a gap in our calendar, please don't hesitate to ask for a price. We cannot accept 1 night stays though, this is just not cost effective for us.
We're also very happy to accept payment via Bank Transfer or Credit/Debit card, whichever you're most comfortable with.
Guestbook
We'd love to hear about your experiences here at The Corner House!
The reviews outlined below have been brought together for you from various different review and booking sites throughout the internet. Their point of origin will be attached to them, should you want to go to those sites to check we're not fibbing! lol
We would hate to think that you'd ever book via those sites though; they charge for 'extras' you don't need and provide the same level of booking security that you'd have by booking with us direct - so why pay more for the same holiday? We'd rather you spent it in the local economy (or put it towards those shoes or power tools you've had your eye on!).
