The Castle House
Details
On the ground floor we have a large kitchen/dining room and separate cosy lounge with patio doors to the front and rear window and Smart TV with Freesat. There is also a small rear boot room and WC. The whole of the ground floor has a mixture of either high quality, non slip vinyl or tile flooring. To the first floor we have three bedrooms (king, double and single) with super comfortable beds. The larger bedrooms now also have 32 inch Freesat Smart TVs! There is also a bathroom (with bath and shower over) and separate WC. We have been careful to keep as many original features as possible though, so both large bedrooms still have their original (although now non functional) cast iron fireplaces, wooden doors and original door furniture.
Travelling with young children?
We provide a travel cot (with additional mattress), high chair, baby gate*, potty and toddler toilet seat, so that you don't have to try to cram them all into the car (more room for shoes!) The only thing that we don't provide is the travel cot bed linen but we know that you prefer to bring your own anyway.
Wanting to treat your dog to a few days at the seaside?
We'd love to welcome your little woofers free of charge (numbers dependent upon size and age). Dogs aren't allowed to be left by themselves though and we ask that they only explore the ground floor too.
Bringing the car?
We have two of the most rare comodities in Whitby, our own private driveway, which is big enough for two average sized cars (with ample on street parking too) and a 7kw 32a EV charging point!
* We have two types of baby gate, one is a Retract-a-Gate one, which is situated on the bottom of the stairs and the other is a home made one, to cover an awkward space on the first floor landing. It is lightweight but strong but obviously it has not been tested to any British Standard, so please only use at your own risk.

Guestbook
We'd love to hear about your experiences here at The Castle House!
The reviews outlined below have been brought together for you from various different review and booking sites throughout the internet. Their point of origin will be attached to them, should you want to go to those sites to check we're not fibbing! lol
We would hate to think that you'd ever book via those sites though; they charge for 'extras' you don't need and provide the same level of booking security that you'd have by booking with us direct - so why pay more for the same holiday? We'd rather you spent what you save (in some cases several hundred pounds!) in our local pubs, shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, museums or attractions (or put it towards those shoes or power tools you've had your eye on!).
